Today, Governor Rick Scott announced Priton, LLC will hire 200 employees during the next three years in Santa Rosa County and make a capital investment of more than $2.9 million.
Priton, LLC is the Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of “MyHouse” affordable, prefabricated homes. The prefabricated homes also include related electrical and plumbing parts, appliances, cabinets, and related connections to complete the production of the home.
Governor Scott said, “Florida’s 15 seaports create prime export opportunities for companies like Priton, and continue to make Florida the best place in the nation to do business. The policies we have put into place over the last two years are working. Since December 2010, Florida has created more than 300,000 private-sector jobs and our unemployment rate has dropped to 7.5% – below the national average. I thank Priton for choosing to create jobs and opportunities for our Florida families.”
Priton’s 200 new direct jobs will include plant managers, administrative staff, mixing plant operatives, blending plant operatives and inventory/shipping workers. Along with the 200 workers hired directly, the new company is estimated to indirectly create an additional 380 new jobs.

“Santa Rosa County looks forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship with Priton, LLC as the newest corporate citizen in our industrial park,” said Santa Rosa County Administrator Hunter Walker.
The Santa Rosa County Economic Development Office, Enterprise Florida Inc. and Department of Economic Opportunity partnered with Priton to bring this project to fruition.
Florida Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope said, “Priton’s choice to move to Florida results from a common vision for economic growth by local, regional, business and government partners. Today’s announcement is a great win for Northwest Florida as well as for the entire state.”
Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Jesse Panuccio said, “The addition of 200 new jobs over the next few years will contribute to Santa Rosa County’s economic recovery and declining unemployment rate. This project is a great example of how local, state, and private entities work together to attract new and expanding businesses in Florida.”
Priton qualified for the state’s Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund ($120,000) and a Brownfield Redevelopment Bonus Refund ($500,000), both of which are performance-based incentives whereby the company receives funds after job goals and other contractual requirements are met.
Additionally, the company will receive an Industry Recruitment, Retention and Expansion Fund Grant (IRREF) of $2.35 million, which is aimed at increasing high-skilled, high-wage jobs in Florida.
