TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced two appointments and one reappointment to the University of South Florida Board of Trustees.

Michael Carrere, 66, of Tampa, is the former chief executive officer of Lykes Brothers Inc. He previously served as a member of the St. Mary’s School board of trustees and as president of the Boy Scouts of America Gulf Ridge Council. Carrere received his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and his advanced management degree from Duke University. He succeeds Debbie Sembler and is appointed for a term beginning March 24, 2016, and ending January 6, 2021.

James Stikeleather, 62, of Tampa, is the chief innovation officer of Dell Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and his master’s degree from the University of South Florida. He succeeds Stephen Mitchell and is appointed for a term beginning March 24, 2016, and ending January 6, 2021.

John Ramil, 60, of Tampa, is the president and chief executive officer of TECO Energy Inc. He previously served as a member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and is a past chair of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Ramil received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of South Florida. He is reappointed for a term beginning March 24, 2016, and ending January 6, 2021.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
