TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced two reappointments and one appointment to the Board of Medicine.

Dr. Magdalena Averhoff, 65, of Miami, has been the chief medical officer of Jackson South Community Hospital since 2011. She received her medical degree from the University of Salamanca. Dr. Averhoff is reappointed for a term beginning October 19, 2016, and ending October 31, 2019.

Dr. Steven Rosenberg, 64, of West Palm Beach, is a dermatologist for Palm Beach Dermatology, Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from New York University and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Rosenberg is reappointed for a term beginning October 19, 2016, and ending October 31, 2019.

Dr. Hector Vila, 59, of Tampa, is a founding partner and vice president of Pediatric Dental Anesthesiology Associates. He received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University College of Medicine. Dr. Vila fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning October 19, 2016, and ending October 31, 2018.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
