When should I arrive?

Check-in opens at 2:00PM followed by a welcome reception on the evening of Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 6:00PM at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel.  Governor Scott will open up the Summit officially the next morning, Wednesday, May 25, at 8:30AM.

 

Is there a cost to register for this event?

There is no cost to register and attend this event.  Additionally, breakfast and lunch will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

Where should I stay?

There are several options for hotels in the area, including, but not limited to the following:

On site: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, 5601 Universal Blvd, Orlando, Florida  32819

What is happening at the summit?

The summit consists of a mixture of national speakers, policy breakout sessions, and networking opportunities with a reception on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  It will bring business leaders and educations stakeholders together to focus on best practices that will help students get jobs upon graduation, with an emphasis on college affordability.

As we get closer to the event, a detailed agenda will be released.

 

Who will be speaking at this Summit?

There will be over 50 speakers at the Summit including:

  • A panel on leadership and teambuilding with Florida State University Football Coach Jimbo Fisher, University of Florida Football Coach Jim McElwain, and University of Miami Football Coach Mark Richt
  • Gloria Flach, COO of Northrop Grumman
  • Jim Clifton, Chairman and CEO of Gallup and Brandon Busteed, Gallup Executive Director of Education and Workforce Development
  • General Lloyd Austin III, Former Commander of the United States Central Command
  • Commissioner Pam Stewart of the Florida Department of Education
  • Chancellor Madeline Pumariega, Chancellor of the Florida College System
  • Chancellor Marshall Criser III, Chancellor of the State University System of Florida

What time will the Summit end on Thursday?

The Summit is expected to end by 4:00PM on Thursday.
