Florida Youth Substance Abuse Survey (FYSAS) – 2007 Survey Results
The Florida Youth Substance Abuse Survey (FYSAS) is annual assessment administered to Floridas middle and high school public school students. The survey, which has been administered since 2000, provides valuable information on the substance abuse trends in Florida, and helps direct prevention efforts. The results of the 2007 survey were released on April 17, 2008 by Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp and Office of Drug Control Director Bill Janes. The 2007 FYSAS shows continued declines in alcohol and other drug use for Floridas youth.
Think about It! Campaign
The Florida Governors Office of Drug Control and the Florida Department of Children and Families have partnered with Clear Channel Communications to implement a statewide multi-media educational marketing campaign to bring awareness to youth and their parents about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. This campaign utilizes radio, billboard, and the internet as marketing tools to deliver substance abuse prevention messages to the public.
Through this campaign community coalitions are able to take advantage of valuable marketing resources that can be used in their respective communities. For more information on obtaining these resources please email Robin Peters.
Below are some examples of commercials that have been produced through out the campaign.
