Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Sharon M. Franklin to the Polk County Court.

Franklin, 53, of Lakeland, has served as an assistant state attorney for the 10th Judicial Circuit since 2004. Franklin received her bachelor’s degree from Troy State University and her law degree from Barry University College of Law. She fills the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Kelly Butz to the Circuit Court.

Governor Rick Scott said, “After many years of serving Florida as an assistant state attorney, I am confident  Sharon will be a valuable addition to the Polk County Court bench.”
