TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Lon S. Arend to the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court.

Arend, 46, of Palmetto, has been with the State Attorney’s Office in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit since 1995 and is currently serving as the Chief Assistant State Attorney. During his time with the State Attorney’s Office, Arend has served in numerous capacities including Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney, Homicide Division Chief, and Felony Division Chief. Arend received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Florida. Arend fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Scott M. Brownell.
