BOCA RATON, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott recognized job growth at Orangetheory Fitness, a national fitness franchise founded in South Florida and headquartered in Boca Raton. Governor Scott said, “I was proud to recognize Orangetheory Fitness, a global company founded right here in Florida that has created more than 1,300 jobs across our state in only six and a half years. Our work to cut taxes, reduce burdensome regulations and make Florida more business-friendly is helping innovative job creators like Orangetheory Fitness create new opportunities for our families. With the recently established $85 million Florida Job Growth Grant Fund to promote public infrastructure and individual job training, we can continue to make Florida a global leader for job creation.”

In recognition of the company’s efforts creating jobs and opportunities for Florida families, Governor Scott also presented Orangetheory Fitness President David Carney with the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award.

David Carney, President and Chief Operating Officer of Orangetheory Fitness, said, “I proudly accept this award on behalf of the founders of Orangetheory, our over 750 passionate franchisees and the tremendous team I am privileged to work with here in Boca Raton. The past several years have been remarkable for our brand and we look forward to continuing our growth throughout the world.”

Senate President Joe Negron said, “I enjoy the opportunity to take classes at Orangetheory Fitness studios both at home and in Tallahassee, so I am happy to be here today with Governor Scott to recognize this outstanding Florida company and its contribution to our economy. Orangetheory Fitness has seen tremendous growth in a very short period of time, and we are pleased they have decided to maintain their global headquarters right here in Florida.”
