RE:                  Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of former State Representative George Sheldon

On Thursday, August 23, 2018, former State Representative George Sheldon passed away. Sheldon represented House District 69, which covers parts of Pinellas County from 1974 to 1982. Representative Sheldon had a long career in public office. Aside from being a state representative, Sheldon was also a Deputy Attorney General and the Secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

As a symbol of respect for the memory of former State Representative George Sheldon and his service to Florida, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse in Miami, Florida, the City Hall of Miami, Florida, the City Hall of Plant City, Florida and at the State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, from sunrise to sunset tomorrow, Saturday, September 8, 2018.
