Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointments of June Ann LeFors and Christine Chapman to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind Board of Trustees.

June Ann LeFors

LeFors, of Saint Augustine, is an instructor for interpreter education as well as for the deaf and exceptional at the University of North Florida. Previously, she spent ten years as an American Sign Language specialist and preschool teacher at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. LeFors is a mother of six, three of which are deaf or hard of hearing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Gallaudet University and her master’s degree in deaf education from Lamar University.

Christine Chapman

Chapman, of Saint Augustine, is a co-owner of All-American Air Conditioning and Heating. Previously, she worked at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind for 18 years as an assistant teacher, teacher and staffing specialist. She is the president of the Junior Service League of Saint Augustine and the All-American Air Charitable Foundation. She received her bachelor’s degree in special education and her master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Florida.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
