TO:           Brian Fienemann, Director of Real Estate Management and DevelopmentFROM:    Governor Ron DeSantisDATE:     Monday, December 30, 2024RE:          Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Former President of the United Sates Jimmy Carter  On Sunday, December 29, 2024, former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, passed away.Pursuant to the President’s orders and as a mark of respect, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida until sunset on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  To view the President’s proclamation, click here.


Pursuant to 4 U.S.C. § 1, et seq, the Governor has adopted a protocol for displaying the National and State Flags. Consistent with this protocol, the Governor will, on rare and solemn occasions, direct the flags to be lowered to half-staff.
