RE: Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Sergeant Elio Diaz
On December 15, 2024, Sergeant Elio Diaz was shot while conducting a traffic stop and tragically died at the hospital. He leaves behind his loving wife and four children. Sergeant Elio Diaz was an eleven-year veteran of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. He displayed incredible bravery and an unwavering commitment to protecting his community. Sergeant Elio Diaz will always be remembered for his service. As a mark of respect, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff in Charlotte County, from sunrise to sunset, on Friday, December 20, 2024.
