Gov. Scott and AT&T Announce More Than 200 New Jobs in Florida


Today, Governor Rick Scott and AT&T announced the company will fill more than 600 positions in the state of Florida, including more than 200 newly added jobs. During the event Gov. Scott awarded Carlos Blanco-Sposito, vice president and general manager for AT&T’s South Florida market, the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award.

Governor Rick Scott said, “AT&T’s continued commitment to creating jobs is great news for Florida families. Florida’s unemployment rate is below the national average at 7 percent and over 365,000 private-sector jobs have been created in two and a half years. Because of the policies we’ve put into place, companies like AT&T are continuing to recognize Florida as a great place to grow their business.”

The jobs being filled are a mix of retail, customer care and technician positions across the state and are part of AT&T’s continued investment in Florida to support new services like Digital Life, network enhancements, and provide the best customer service. AT&T already has hired more than 2,400 people in Florida through September of this year, including nearly 1,000 new jobs.
