Governor Rick Scott Welcomes SIMTEC International Headquarters

Governor Scott today welcomed industrial parts company SIMTEC who recently announced they will be moving their international headquarters from Madison, Wisconsin to Miramar, Florida.

Governor Scott said, “We are proud to welcome SIMTEC’s international headquarters to Florida from Wisconsin. Florida’s rich talent pool, our strong college and university system and a fantastic transportation system that gives them easy access to the world’s markets were cited among the reasons for their decision.

“As we remove taxes on business, eliminate the sales tax on manufacturing machinery and equipment and cut over 2,500 burdensome regulations, more and more companies like SIMTEC are realizing that Florida has the perfect climate for business.”

As part of an incentives agreement, SIMTEC will be hiring 40 new employees over the next four years and making $3.5 million in capital investments. As part of the move, they will be building a new, world class state-of-the-art facility. They are the only EPA Green Power Partner in their industry and support the use of local wind energy as a power source.

SIMTEC considered expansion in Madison, Wisconsin as well as a move to Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia before deciding on Miramar, Florida.
