Ariel, Israel – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis addressed the Florida Delegation during a Memorandum of Understanding Signing between Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and Ariel University. Present at the ceremony were philanthropists Sheldon Adelson and Dr. Miriam Adelson, the Honorable Eli Shaviro, Mayor of Ariel and Ariel University President Yehuda Danon.

“Today marks the initiation of promising work between educational experts from Florida and Israel on issues that directly impact our citizens,” said Governor DeSantis. “Guided by Ariel University and Florida Atlantic University, this is a journey that we will share together to the benefit of both Israelis and Floridians and we look forward to more comradery and collaboration in the future.”

The two universities will develop exchange opportunities for scholars and students alike, and explore co-operative research opportunities.

“Today marks the beginning of an important opportunity for long-term collaboration between Ariel University and Florida Atlantic University,” said FAU President John Kelly. “This Memorandum of Understanding will result in partnerships between faculty, facilitate student exchange opportunities and initiate joint research projects in areas ranging from medicine and human health issues to disease such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and addiction research.”

“Today we sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Florida Atlantic University. This is more than just a symbolic gesture for us – this is the solidifying of a relationship, a friendship, bringing two great institutions together for collaboration and academic advancement,” said Ariel University President Yehuda Danon. “What makes today even more special, is to have with us Governor of Florida, the Honorable Ron DeSantis, here with us on his first official trip to Israel as governor as well as members of the Florida Cabinet, business leaders from Florida and Israel and all our guests here today.”
