Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointments of Russell Mayer and Edwin Stewart to the Florida Barbers’ Board.

Russell Mayer

Mayer, of Casselberry, is a retired barber. He was a manager and barber at Kennedy’s All-American Barber Club in Lake Mary for over 10 years. He completed his master barber certification in 1975. He is appointed to a four-year term.

Edwin Stewart

Stewart, of Pensacola, is a barber at the Navy Exchange at Sherman Field. Stewart has been a barber for over 50 years, during which time he has been the director of a state barber school. He is appointed to a four-year term.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
