Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of David Hawkins to the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees.

Hawkins, of Jacksonville, is the chief executive of Stein Mart Inc. He has served as a trustee at Florida State College in Jacksonville since 2017. He previously served as a member of the program advisory council at DECA, Inc., a not-for-profit student organization dedicated to preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges. Hawkins received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee and his master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of West Florida. Hawkins is reappointed to a four year term.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
