Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Shantel Davis to the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees.

Davis, of Jacksonville, is the vice president of real estate and facilities management for CSX Transportation. In this role she oversees real estate activities, including the sales, leasing and development of surplus property, acquisition of property for industrial development, and licensing of rail corridor and pipeline usages related to CSX’s properties. Davis serves as a board member for Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless, University of North Florida Foundation, Jacksonville University Public Policy and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, Shantel was named one of the top 100 emerging leaders by diversity MBA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and criminal justice from the University of North Florida and her master’s degree in business administration from Jacksonville University.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
