Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Edward Russo to the Board of Pilot Commissioners.

Russo, of Key West, is the president and CEO of Environmental Remedy and Recovery, as well as the CEO of Watergen USA. He began his career crusading against toxic polluting landfills in New Jersey and overseeing the projects included under the Federal Superfund Program. Russo is an expert in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of industrial water re-use, reclamation, and recycling equipment and facilities. He is president of the Florida Keys Environmental Coalition, a member of the Monroe County Climate Change Advisory Board and a member of the Board of Directors of Reef Relief. Russo is appointed to a four-year term.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
