Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointments of Carlos Gamez, Scott Janowitz and Jeffrey Kolokoff to the Miami-Dade County Court.

Carlos Gamez

Gamez, of Coral Gables, is an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami. He was previously an associate attorney with Perez and Rodriguez P.A. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Gamez fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Ramiro Areces.

Scott Janowitz

Janowitz, of West Miami, is an attorney for Geyer, Fuxa, Tyler PLLC. He previously served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. He received his bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Janowitz fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Christina DiRaimondo.

Jeffrey Kolokoff

Kolokoff, of Miami Shores, is a senior attorney for Beighley, Myrick, Udell and Lynne P.A. He previously served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade. He received his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and his law degree from Mercer University School of Law. Kolokoff fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Robert Watson.
