Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Sandra Powell to the Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.

Powell, of Margate, is the Regional Laboratory Manager for Broward Health Medical Center. She was recently named one of South Florida’s Top Black Healthcare Professionals by Legacy Magazine. Powell is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and serves as a member of the Jack and Jill Foundation of America. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
