Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Jennifer Hooten, Emily Lee, Ivy Parks, Peter Wahl and Bryn Blaise to the Lake-Sumter State College District Board of Trustees.
Jennifer Hooten
Hooten, of Bushnell, is a Teacher of American Government and Economics at South Sumter High School. She has served on the Lake-Sumter State College District Board of Trustees since 2018 and is English to Speakers of Other Languages certified. Hooten attended Lake-Sumter State College before earning her bachelor’s degree in education from Saint Leo University.
Emily Lee
Lee, of Eustis, is the former Director of Children’s Services for Lake County and a former specialist with the Community Coalition Alliance. She is a member of the Lake County Golden Triangle Rotary Club and sits on the board of Gateway Community Health Center. Lee earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Southern University and a master’s degree in counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
 
Ivy Parks
Parks, of Clermont, is an Administrator with Parks Consulting Services. Previously, she was a senior specialist in human resources at Lockheed Martin. Parks is a former member of the Lake County Library Advisory Board and is a member of the local Parent Teacher Organization. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
Peter Wahl
Wahl, of The Villages, is a former President of The Villages Health System. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of The Villages, mentor with Lake-Sumter Take Stock in Children and a Board Member Emeritus at the Lake-Sumter Children Advocacy Center. Wahl earned his bachelor’s degree from Winona State University and his master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Bryn Blaise
Blaise, of The Villages, is a licensed engineer with Blaise Engineering. Previously, he was Vice President and Construction Manager for The Villages and is a Florida Professional Engineer and Certified Building Contractor. Blaise earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
