PALM COAST, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the state of Florida will open new monoclonal antibody treatment sites in both Flagler and Highlands counties. Governor DeSantis was joined by Flagler residents who have recovered from COVID because they received monoclonal therapies. Florida now has 25 state-run monoclonal antibody treatment sites.

The two newest sites will be located at:

Amy Young, a cancer survivor and realtor in Flagler County, said, “A few weeks ago I tested positive for COVID, and just felt like an absolute train wreck. I’m a cancer survivor and have rheumatoid arthritis, so I know fatigue, I know pain. This was like nothing I’d ever experienced in my life. The night before I went to get the Regeneron treatment, I seriously considered calling 911. I got the series of four shots, and a couple of hours later, I noticed that the body aches were a little bit less. By the third day I felt like a million bucks. I’ve been telling everyone that I know, and their friends, their loved ones, whoever, if you’ve been exposed, or if you are COVID positive, go and get the treatment.”

Michele Kastner, a Registered Nurse in Palm Coast, said, “My husband tested positive before I did, so we made him an appointment at an infusion center. I tested positive two days later. We both were vaccinated for COVID, but unfortunately were exposed to somebody and got it. It was very easy to make the appointment online, and we both received the monoclonal treatment. Within 36 hours we both felt better, our body aches and temperatures were gone, and we had lots of energy. I know of two people who tested positive and did not get the treatment and their COVID symptoms lingered for weeks. We were blessed, we were better within a couple of days.”

Charles Kastner, Michele’s husband and manager of a local store, said, “When I tested positive, I was scared. I have two children and my beautiful wife, so I was scared. With a 102 degree fever I went up to Jacksonville to get the infusion. The next afternoon, I was ready to go back to work. The treatment is why we are here, no doubt.”
