TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez and Jeanette Rubio to the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking.
 
Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez
Lieutenant Governor Nuñez was elected Florida’s first-ever female Hispanic Lieutenant Governor in 2018. She previously served as a State Representative of the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and was named Speaker Pro Tempore from 2016 to 2018. In her role as Lieutenant Governor, she oversees the Florida Department of Health, leads the Florida Cybersecurity Advisory Council, and serves as chair of Space Florida. Initially appointed to the Council in 2014, Lieutenant Governor Nuñez is the longest-serving member on the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking.
 
Jeanette Rubio
Rubio is the president of JDR Consulting, Inc. She has served on the board of directors for the Agape Network and has partnered with community organizations to help victims of human trafficking. In addition, she and her husband, Senator Marco Rubio, have worked in support of Kristi’s House, a child advocacy center dedicated to the eradication of child abuse and child sex trafficking.
