SARASOTA, Fla. — Today, First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the expansion of Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity for families and individuals impacted by Hurricane lan. This expansion, spearheaded by First Lady DeSantis and implemented by the Florida Department of Children and Families, will provide individuals and families who have been devastated by the storm access to disaster recovery assistance.

“Floridians impacted by Hurricane lan are strong and resilient,” said First Lady Casey DeSantis. “But navigating the myriad of steps that need to be taken to begin to rebuild can be overwhelming. Our Hope Navigators and volunteers are ready and trained to bring awareness to the resources and aid available. By activating Hope Florida in this capacity, we hope to provide comfort and stability to impacted families.”

“The Hope Florida program has already helped thousands of Floridians navigate difficult situations and cut through red tape,” said Florida Department of Children and Families Secretary Shevaun Harris. “I am so grateful for the First Lady’s heart and passion for helping Floridians during their time of need. Expansion of the Hope Line, including leveraging volunteers that want to help, will certainly meet a critical need for those impacted by the storm as they begin the recovery process.”

This expansion will be focused on disaster recovery and provide support for all Floridians as they navigate which types of programs might be most beneficial as they begin to recover. In addition, Hope Navigators are trained in recognizing the signs of stress and will be able to refer individuals to crisis counseling supports if needed.

To receive support from Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity, Floridians can call the Hope Line at 850-300-HOPE. Additional information can be found at HopeFlorida.com.
