Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Alex Martins to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees.

Martins, of Orlando, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Orlando Magic. He is a former Vice Chair of the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees and has been involved with the Orlando Economic Development Commission, Central Florida Partnership, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Orlando Coalition for the Homeless. Martins is a University of Central Florida distinguished alumni awardee and is in the university’s School of Business Administration Hall of Fame. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University and his master of business administration from the University of Central Florida.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
