Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Jason Barrett to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees.

Barrett, of St. Augustine Beach, is the Chief Executive Officer of Flagler Health+. Previously, he held senior roles with Flagler Hospital including President, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Integration Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Barrett volunteers his time on the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet and with the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida, St. Johns Economic Development Council, Community Hospice and the Jacksonville Civic Council. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health science and master of business administration from the University of North Florida and a master’s degree in systems and engineering from Texas Tech University.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
